Mission Statement

Children and families are our most valued resource. Our home is dedicated to the ministry of returning children to a family by providing for children’s physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs. This is accomplished in a nurturing environment with compassionate care. Since 1920, the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home has ministered to children and families.

Purpose

The Free Will Baptist Children’s Home is a missionary organization created to perform “The Great Commission” by ministering to orphaned, dependent, neglected and abused, undisciplined and status offended children. The children are from broken homes caused by: alcohol, mental illness, crime, physical illness, poverty, neglect, desertion, death, etc. The majority of these children are not orphans but have greater individual needs. Their faith and confidence in themselves and their world has been shattered and they no longer know the love and security of a family. Therefore, the purpose of the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home is redemptive in the restoration of the child’s faith in himself, God and his world. This shall be accomplished through our expression of individual love for the child, his acceptance into the Children’s Home community, as well as the best professional assistance available. He is loved just as Christ loved the church. To this end the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, with the continual help and guidance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so dedicates itself.

Goal   

The current goal of our Home is to take care of the child's physical needs while ministering to their emotional and spiritual needs.  Those needs are constantly changing, just as society changes. Our Home endeavors to counsel with the child's family with the hope of possible, reuniting the family.

When a child cannot be reunited with his/her own family, the Home endeavors to provide a home for as long as the child needs it, until he/she reaches adulthood, graduates from high school, or college.

Performance & Quality Improvement

The FWB Children’s Home staff is committed to providing quality care for all of the children we serve.  We accomplish this through a PQI initiative as a part of our accreditation process with The Council on Accreditation.  We are committed to ensuring a timely, periodic and organized review of the quality of our services.  This review enables us to implement needed changes to ensure this quality of care.
