Sympathy
Doris Duncan Carter (1946-1958) passed away on February 15, 2013.  A graveside service was held on February 19 at the Carter Family Cemetery at 3693 Rocky Cross Road, Middlesex, NC  She is survived by two sons, Tony R, and Ryan L., a sister Lois Lucas, and several grandchilden and great grandchildren.
Nicholas Troy Matson (2002-2003) passed away on January 1, 2013.  A service of remembrance was held on January 5 at Unity Chapel of Cliffdale, Fayetteville, NC.
Geneva Elks Boyd  (late 70's early 80's) passed away on October 13, 2012.  She was a former child care worker at the HOme, and she resided in Greenville, NC
Makeisha Williams  (1998-2002) passed away on August 3, 2012.  A memorial service was held on August 9 in Burlington, NC.  Makeisha wa a published author and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

Jim Hill, husband of Evelyn Pate Hill, alunma 8/33-4/43, passed away on February 28, 2012 
Nellie May Langley Lewis,(alumni 28-41) passed away on January 9, 2011.  She and her sister Virginia Langley were admitted to the Home August 19, 1928
Maurice Wooten Thompson,(alumni 35038 and 38-41) age 86 of Deep Run, NC, and brother to Thelma Thompsom Freeman 35-42, Nelma Thompson Smith 35-42, and Eizabeth Thompson Noble 37-38, passed away on February 5, 2012. Maurice also had two brothers, Gerald Outlaw and Jimmie Outlaw. Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Deep Run NC
 
Mrs. Pearl Reardon Johnson Hunt, age 97, of Smithfield passed away on February 8, 2012. The family will receive friends at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy., Wilson from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11. Funeral services will be held at Marsh Swamp Original Free Will Baptist church at Rock Ridge on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Ray Wells, The Reverend Mike Scott, and The Reverend Joe Myrick will officiate.

Mrs. Pearl, along with her first husband, Reverend Milton Johnson, served the Free Will Baptist Children's Home from 1962 - 1969. Mrs. Hunt was acting superintendent for six months after the death of Reverend Johnson.
Wanda Lou H. Lucas, wife of Billy Ray Lucas (alumni 38-43) passed away on January 21, 2012.  Graveside services were held at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson on Tuesday January 24, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Ray Lucas, Sr.; a daughter Glenda Lou Lucas, a son Billy Ray Lucas Jr. (wife Kim), two sisters, and a brother, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Teeny Butts, (alumni 46 - 52) passed away on Saturday January 14, 2012.  Funeral services were held on Monday January 15 in Farmville.  Burial followed in Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain.  Ms. Butts is survived by , two brothers, James (J) Cleavin Butts, Alvin Earl Butts, one sister, Lydia Butts Crabtree, and Lucille Burress, her beloved mom.
Stanley Holloway, (alumni 62-67) passed away on December 12, 2011. He is survived by wife, Diane, daughter Michelle, son, Michael, and two grandchildren.  Please keep his family in your prayers
Norma Lane, wife of David John Lane (alumni 8/46-1/52) passed away October 29, 2011, in Red Bud, IL
Willie Lancaster, (alumni 55-66) passed away on July 28, 2011. Please keep his wife and family in your prayers.
William Burkette Raper, Mount Olive, NC passed away early on Monday, August 1, 2011. Burial was at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Trenton in Jones County.
